                        T-62 Main Battle Tank

T-62 nebo Objekt 166 (rus. Объект 166) byl sovětský hlavní bojový tank používaný v 60. a 70. letech 20. století. Do konce 70. let představoval spolu s T-55 základní výzbroj sovětských tankových vojsk. Vznikl modernizací konstrukce T-55 instalací mj. 115mm kanónu. Vozidlo nepředstavovalo velký pokrok v konstrukci sovětských tanků a bylo zanedlouho nahrazeno tanky T-64 a T-72.

The T-62 is a Soviet main battle tank that was first introduced in 1961. As a further development of the T-55 series, the T-62 retained many similar design elements of its predecessor including low profile and thick turret armour. In contrast with previous tanks, which were armed with rifled tank guns, the T-62 was the first tank armed with a smoothbore tank gun that could fire APFSDS rounds at higher velocities.

Rudá armáda, celým názvem Dělnicko-rolnická rudá armáda (rusky Рабоче-крестьянская Красная армия, Raboče-kresťjanskaja Krasnaja armija (РККА nebo RKKA), zkráceně jen Красная армия) byla armáda bolševického Ruska (1918–1922) a posléze Sovětského svazu (1922–1946).

The Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Armyfrequently shortened to Red Armywas the army and the air force of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and, after 1922, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Beginning in February 1946, the Red Army, along with the Soviet Navy, embodied the main component of the Soviet Armed Forces; taking the official name of “Soviet Army“, until its dissolution in December 1991. The former official name Red Army continued to be used as a nickname by both sides throughout the Cold War.
